Most people who jailbreak do it for one main reason and that’s to give it the customization that Apple doesn’t allow. Many of the tweaks make the native apps on your iPhone 6 more functional, easier to use and in a way that Apple wouldn’t dream of allowing – until now. Now that iOS 7 has been released in iOS 7 beta form we can see that many of the functions that Apple has included this time round are eerily reminiscent of some of the best Cydia tweaks ever downloaded.
Is iPhone 6 Jailbreaking Legal ?
There are still some who purse their lips and frown heavily when jailbreaking is mentioned. Some say that those who jailbreak are nothing more than law breakers, hackers who are in the same league as those who sell or allow access to paid apps that have been cracked.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) got involved, with petitions about people’s rights to do as they pleased with an iOS device that they had legally purchased and owned. As a result, under the DMCA Act, the US Copyright office exempted the process and it became perfectly legal to do. In their eyes, jailbreaking does not break any laws because it is purely the act of obtaining apps from third-party suppliers.
Apple continues to fight against jailbreaking, despite the ruling and endeavor to stay one step ahead of the hackers. Any warranty will be voided on jailbroken iPhone 6s and, even if the warranty has run out they can still refuse to repair your iPhone 6 if it has been jailbroken.
The Disadvantages of Jailbreaking :
If you consider not having any warranty or not being able to get your iPhone 6 repaired or serviced then perhaps it is dangerous. However, if you have used the correct jailbreak utility, you can easily remove it and restore your iPhone 6 back to factory before you take it in for work to be done. This will get rid of all traces of the jailbreak and they’ll be none the wiser.
At the moment, there is no iPhone 6 and no jailbreak utility for iOS 7 – the firmware it will be running on. However, both will be available within the next year – iOS 7 in September and the iPhone 6 possibly next Summer. At that point, we will guide you through the process of jailbreaking your iPhone 6 – which utility to use and how to do it.
