Last year Apple veered away from their normal course of action and gave us 2 iPhones instead of 1. If the rumors are to be believed, they may be planning the same thing again this year. A recent report in The Wall Street Journal told us that Apple would be releasing a 4.5” iPhone, which is apparently almost ready for mass production, and one with a display larger than 5”.

Whether that is the case or not is open for debate – nothing official has come from the Cupertino Company as of yet. There has also been talk of screen sizes of 4.7” and 5.5” and, based on that, we have a new concept of the iPhone 6 with a 4.7” screen.
The iPhone 5S is a top of the range handset that has proved to be extremely popular. It has a much better processor than anything Apple has produced in the past, a new Touch ID fingerprint sensor, the additional M7 processor and a better camera. What it doesn’t have is size and there is no getting away from the fact that it looks small in comparison to other models on the market right now.

So, perhaps there is a little truth to the rumors and Apple is preparing to join the rest and give us that larger display. Anything bigger than 5” would perhaps be a little off the mark – Apple doesn’t tend to hit us with drastic changes preferring instead to gradually introduce new features. However, 4.5” or 4.7” wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility and would still fit with Tim Cook’s ethos that we should be able to operate our phones single-handed.
So, let’s take a look at the new concept from Alex Casabo. As well as the 4.7” screen, we have A8 quad-core processor running at 1.2 GHz, a much better battery and a 600 dpi display which is perhaps a little over the top.
Have a look at the video of the concept and tell us what you think:
